Zen

Today,

one thing kept leading to another

-which is almost never good-

and I wound myself up in a whole mess of

yo-yo knots.

I know you know what I'm talking about.

We've all done it...

Every adult on the planet has given a kid a yo-yo and watched as they managed to turn that string into a tangle of knots, so mangled, no Boy Scout would ever figure it out.

And today,

I wound
                              myself
into a mess of yo-yo knots.

Why?
Because
I'm
awesome
like that.

I also reminded my principal of my awesomeness...
(because I'm currently doing this on a two day on/two day off rotational basis)

and proceeded to remind her it's totally cool with me if she pays for THAT..eerrrrrr MY position next year.
(because I'm currently doing this on a two day on/two day off rotational basis)

(You know, in case she forgets)

To which, she said to me, "You know, sometimes the door that opens..."

I'd tell you the rest but I can't remember it because I stopped listening right there ON PURPOSE.  The last time someone started talking to me about windows and doors, outlooks and views I was on my way out and I hadn't asked to move.

-No thank you.-

Then I came home and saw this laying on my kitchen table...

"The only zen you find at the top of a mountain is the zen you bring up there."

and this...

"If you want to be free, Be Free."

I wrote them down a few days ago because I liked them - they made me smile.  I needed to read that after the long, wind myself in knots sort of, day I had.

Knots are so overrated.

Be zen.

As I've said, you are zen.
Quite the definition of it, too.

I suppose "zen" can get in knots sometimes, too. No one is perfect, after all.

Somehow, though? Somehow, you always find the light at the end of the tunnel, the one thing to make all the knots seem like tiny little curves in a seemingly impossible string of yo-yo knots.

I miss that about you - but only because you're so far away. ;)
