The Filing Cabinet

Kids pop in and out of my office all the time these days.

(I kind of like it)

One of my regulars stopped at the filing cabinet on his way out the door yesterday.

"Coach Sides, I didn't know you write poetry" he said, as he ran his fingers across the sticky note on the third drawer.

"It's true. I do, but none of my poems are in there."

"Then why did you label it poetry?"

... I know why I labeled that drawer poetry (teaching resources) but I really like that he automatically assumed I write the stuff.

I'm gonna keep this kid around.

;)

Yes, maam. :) Being the reading coach... last year, the PE coach took to calling me coach and it stuck. So I walk around being called Coach Sides all the time. I kind of like it myself.

I also like you.

Your blog the other day touched me by the way although I didn't have two minutes to type anything saying so.

(miss you)

I love that they call you coach sides. And explain why you labeled the drawer poetry....?

It's labeled poetry because it's filled with all the teaching books and things a teacher would need for teaching children all about poetry as well as how to write it. :D
