This List...

This List... isn't really an appropriate title because I've got two lists laying on the table in front of me. I should have taken the time to think this through before so carelessly typing up there, don't you think? I could have just as easily written These Two Lists... or These Lists... or The Lists...

(but I didn't)

(and I hope you're over it because I didn't bother myself with changing it)

I don't know about you but I like to have paper around. I've found, the more paper I have around, the more stuff I tend to write on it. And that, my friends, is how This List... came to be.

Ruth talks about things. Ruth and I talk about things. Sometimes Ruth just says things. I write a lot of this down. Why? Because it's smart. It's funny. It's insightful. It makes me think...and well...because it's Ruth.

So much of Ruth's seven years are chronicled in bits (cross your fingers...) and pieces (any day except Monday...) throughout the leatherbound pages of my journals and the curling pages of my legal pad obsession.

This List...
(two pages from our kitchen table)

  • Naming Crickets (The biggest one, I'm going to name Pooch!)
  • Ruth's To Do List
  • Ben's Christmas Presents
  • Ruth: "I don't think the real 3 Muskateers were as soft as this delicious candy bar."
  • I asked Ruth to refrain from artistically expressing herself (ie using markers on her face) until after her school pictures. She promised. She kept her promise. The afternoon after pictures she came home with tattoos all over her arms and hands and half her face "expressed." But she kept her promise.
  • Ruth reprises the digit argument - fingers aren't digits and thumbs must be fingers or moms and dads wouldn't say they hope their babies have ten fingers and toes when they're born.

That's a couple of blog's worth, wouldn't you say?

Love,
me

hhahaha As always I am laughing at her! She cracks me up!

And it's always so refreshing to read about your lists. It makes me feel ever so normal. I think you are the only one I know who lists as much as I do. I wish I could spend just one day with you to see your listing process. I am fascinated with it.

You so rock. LOVE!
