Peanut Butter and Jelly

The Day We Moved to Florida
December 7th, 2008
(From the Archives...aka myspace...gasp!)

If you've ever spent ten minutes with us you know.

Ben and I go together like peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, socks and shoes... I know I drive people crazy with the way I go on about him and just how alike we are, the way we finish each others sentences or laugh about things before we ever say them.

But I kind of like the way I can't stop going on about him...

(you know?)

Anyhow, we spent the past two days driving from Texas to Florida. It was a long drive made extremely longer since we couldn't leave one of our cars behind or the boat. So, what I'm really trying to say is that I just spent two days driving behind a humongous boat... a boat so big I couldn't see the Durango pulling it, and only caught glimpses of Ben as we changed lanes from time to time.

It was rough.

When Ben and I finally made it to Hurlburt and had checked into our room I remembered I had taken a picture of the Florida sunset just as we crossed the state line to send to my sister. I ran over to my purse, pulled my cell phone out, and as Ben futilly attempted to make the internet work said, " Look what I took while we were driving this afternoon!" He smiled and he laughed as he took his own cell phone out and said, "I took the exact same picture..."
Here's my Florida sunset, taken just as we crossed into Florida at 4:05pm...

And here is Ben's...

I guess what I want to share is that I know I'm not imagining it. We really are connected. Even when we haven't been together for days, we see the same things in the same way and want to hold onto them and share them.

Love,

me
