Love Notes

I bought everyone in the house a box of Tic Tacs a few nights ago.  They were a surprise to let them know I appreciated them.  Affixed to the front of each box was a small yellow sticky note, lovingly penned in black sharpie marker... "I love you! Love, me"

That note has traveled from a Tic Tacs box to the coffee pot to the iPad to the silverware drawer to the side of the pantry... My girls have been spreading the love.  I think it is precious.  It makes me smile every time I stumble across it.

I am really going to miss them when they leave next week.

The traveling yellow sticky note reminded me of a favorite Lucy Calkins quote:
" If you can convince your children that you love them, then there's nothing you can't teach them."
I hope, more than anything, my children know they are loved and I hope that love leads them to a lifetime of learning and understanding.

This last quote caught my attention while at the movies with Ben and the girls,
“Maybe you don’t need the whole world to love you, you know? Maybe you just need one person.”
Love is powerful.
Love is definitely better in quality than quantity.
I know the addition of Ben's love [to my life] has impacted me in more ways than I could ever describe... and because of his love, I have found the love of so many others.

Love is a beautiful thing.

Love,
me
