Tonight, two Ruths sat shoulder to shoulder at the dining room table, one Ruth seventy-four years older than the other. As the younger Ruth licked pudding from a spoon and explained why she eats her dessert before her dinner the older Ruth gave advice on the importance of good posture.
When the conversation came to a close, Aunt Wendy looked at the younger Ruth and said, "Wow, you've learned a lot today!"
Ruthie nodded.
Ruthie grinned.
Ruthie put her spoon down
and said, "I sure have!"
"I've learned you don't hurt your shoulders."
"You stand up straight and poke your boobs out."
"And...
sometimes pigs get sick."
