Because I love Him...

(but really, because I love me)

and more importantly, because I do whole heartedly believe

"Feeling sorry for yourself, and your present condition, is not only a waste of energy but the worst habit you could possibly have."             Dale Carnegie
I've been reflecting, researching, whining, complaining, and sulking.  A couple of those things were extremely productive.  The others probably need to be done every once in a while so...

(shrugging my shoulders)

I've decided to read a couple of books.  Are you surprised?

The first book?

I found this book after clicking around some of the "woe is me" links on (very good) military support websites I've recently discovered or been referred to.  I recognize that I appear to have my "sticks" together most of the time but I'm just as emotionally unkempt as the next girl on the inside.  I'm not shy or ashamed though - I prefer happy to   ifIcouldfindaBRIDGEiwoulddriveoffORjumpfromit, you know?

This book received review after review after review SCREAMING from the rooftops that it had changed (yes, I said CHANGED) the lives of the women who read it.  The first chapter title did it for me... "What if I don't fit this life?"

I was so excited after that, I refused to buy the eBook version.  I'm reading this one with my pencil and my journal - I can already see notes scribbled in the margins.

If that book is so wonderful, do I really need a second?

Y.  E.  S.

Why?

Because...

My husband is amazing.
My husband is my best friend.
My husband's smile can turn the worst day completely upside down .
My husband cooks me dinner.
My husband holds me from the moment we climb into bed until we wake up in the morning - I don't even have a pillow.
My husband loves me.

My

   husband

is

never

home.

The Second Book...

How'd I find this one?  I overheard other spouses talking about it.  If it works for others, I am willing to give it a shot.  It appears to be my sort of thing.

Now...

Who wants to read along with me?

If you're interested in either book and want to read with me - let me know.

Love,
me

Paula, I love this post (and the opening quote). I couldn't agree more with everything you said. This life we live challenges me in ways I never imagined. But the resulting growth is amazing. Yes, sometimes we need to feel sorry for ourselves just to get it out of our systems. If we didn't, it would build up and eventually explode. But it sounds like your general positivity about life is keeping you on the right track. When times are tough, the first thing I do before getting out of bed is tell myself that today will be a good day. Attitude is everything.

Enjoyed your words. I'll have to check out those books. :-)
